Weekly Debate: Should Middle Schoolers have Texting?

This weeks debate is, should middle scholars have texting? I think they should because I'm a middle scholar and I could have used it numerous times in the past. Though unfortunately my parents disagree. So leave your opinion in the comments whether you agree or disagree.

Texting is sometimes expensive. There might be times it would be helpful, but, can you not call instead of texting? Sometimes you might be texting when you shouldn't be. Parents usually have to pay the cost. Is it worth it? If you have a responsible child, maybe you could reward them with this feature. Investigate to see what the cost is?

Yes, but what if you have unlimited?

If I was a kid I would want to text. However, I am 59 years old and I know there are a lot of weird people who would like to take advantage of kids, especially young girls. So, if parents are monitoring things then maybe a limited amount of texting, with certain restrictions, would be ok. But be very very careful!

With sprit, the phone company I use, it is only about 20 dollars a month for unlimted

I think that's good and bad. Most parents agree to spend money for their kid's phones and that's good but lots of Middle schoolers go over board on it. But it can help. I'm in Germany and I have to because when I stay after school I have to talk to my mom with-out calling sometimes. It's good and bad.
